Hasegawa 1/48 Aichi B7A2 'Grace'

This model was another commission piece built to the same brief as the 'Myrt', however I also added an Eduard etch set (48220), brake lines made from fuse wire and areal wires made from mono-filament thread. The model was finished using the Gunze Mr Color range of solvent based paints and Vallejo acrylics for the cockpit details. In photos of the actual aircraft I noticed that the upper surface finish appeared to be heavily oxidised and to re-create this, I sprayed a heavily diluted mix of Radome Tan over the base colour, until the desired affect was achieved. Further weathering consisted of panel line washes, exhaust stains, and scratches and paint chips made with a silver Prismacolor pencil. The model is also depicted, fitted with a training torpedo.
