The model was a commission piece and although the
original brief was for it to be built Out of Box, I still
added an Eduard etch set (48439) and brake lines made from fuse wire. The
model was finished using the Gunze Mr Color range of solvent based paints and
Vallejo acrylics for the cockpit details. The flag was created by
sliding the decal onto a piece of thin aluminum tape (the type used in
aircraft paint stripping), which had been brushed with a wet coat of
Future. Once dry the flag was trimmed, folded around a thin piece of wire
and the folds created by carefully rolling it around a paint brush
handle, until the desired look was achieved. The model was only lightly
weathered with some panel line washes, exhaust stains, and scratches
and paint chips added with a silver Prismacolor pencil.
